Add some whimsical, rustic farmhouse notes to your favorite spaces.
We are so excited to be collaborating with Amy Michelle of @amymichelleart to bring her whimsical, rustic style to our practical Flats. She created a fantastic collection for Carolina Creekhouse that we know you are going to love.
AM + CCH = Happier Floors!
Can you tell us a little more about your process and what drives your decisions?
My process is there is no process ha! I paint when the mood strikes me; I love to add papers, fabrics, etc. into my pieces; it adds so much character and texture. I usually have a finished image in my mind, but I try to also paint off the cuff; improv painting. I am honing my skills on that very thing…
What design is your favorite out of this new collection for CCH?
I would have to say the cute bicycle! It turned out adorable and it’s just fun and whimsical.
What is one of your favorite quotes or inspirational messages?
Dolly quote: “Find out who are you and do it on purpose” I also love a lot of Rumi quotes and women related inspiring quotes. We can never get enough inspiration and encouragement along the way.
What do you like to do when you are not painting?
I have a lot of great friends and family that I spend time w/social settings, yoga, music in the parks, wine tasting, art festivals. Etc.
What style would you say your own home is?
I like to think my home style/vibe is cozy and charming… I love antiques, primitives, cool art pieces, blankets and pillows, candles and plants galore. I’ve recently started collecting Orchids.. my new passion!
Outside of your collection what style of CCH mats would fit best in your favorite space? I love the Brooks style and also love the Vera Pink, so cute! But also loving the Halloween collection! So fun!
A little more about Amy Michelle's Art
Amy Michelle infuses every piece she creates with heart and soul. From whimsical flowers, hearts, and bluebirds to charming rustic barns, sailboats, and angels, each work is one-of-a-kind. Originally from rural Michigan, Amy’s style blends rustic farmhouse elements with a touch of warmth and character. She combines acrylic paints, papers, fabrics, and various materials to give texture and personality to all of her creations. Amy grew up surrounded by creativity, with her grandmother Georgia—an artist in many forms—living right next door. Watching Georgia paint, repurpose furniture, craft hand-dipped candles, and make everything from handsewn teddy bears to quilts, left a lasting influence on Amy. Grateful for the artistic legacy passed down from her grandmother, Amy continues to channel that inspiration into her work. You can find her pieces showcased at local art festivals and boutiques in Alpharetta, GA.
Her Advice to Other Artists
Just start ! You never know what will come of your creative expressions; most of the time, my pieces turn out different than I had planned. Which is a good thing. And if you’re looking for inspiration, go to your local art galleries, studios etc. and soak up the creativity. And it’s a stress release for anyone to do something creative…
